How do you convert square footage of walls to rolls of wallpaper?
Converting square footage to rolls is not always accurate, depending on the room. Bath rooms, kitchens, and laundry rooms have a lot of waste, due to cuts around cabinets and mirrors. Hallways, bedrooms and common areas are usually easier to convert, but different height elevations and pattern repeats can also make it difficult to get an accurate measurement. It is always better to have a professional installer come out, and do an on site measurement.

I have kids. Are wallpapers right for me?
Believe it or not, kids and wallpaper make a pretty good combination. There are many patterns available, geared toward children of all ages. When decorating your child’s room, ask for their input. Keep in mind however, that as they grow older, their taste’s change. Think twice about spending a lot of money on a theme wallcovering that will need to be changed in a few years.

What is the lifespan of wallpaper?
The lifespan of wallpaper depends on the room and conditions. Under proper conditions, certain wallpapers will last forever. Adverse conditions, such as high humidity, poor ventilation, and traffic, can shorten the lifespan. Bedrooms and common areas tend to last longer than bathrooms and kitchens, due to the steam from showers and cooking.

What type of wallpaper is best for different rooms of my home or office?
In your home, different kinds of wallpaper are better, depending on the room. In bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and mud rooms, a vinyl wallcovering is better. These papers resist steam better and can usually be cleaned with a damp sponge.
You can use any product in all the other rooms of your home. Vinyls, fabrics, grasscloth, weaves, and hand painted papers as well. In commercial applications, a commercial grade wallcovering is better. These products are thicker and more washable than residential papers. These papers are usually 54” wide and fire retardant. Vinyls are better in high traffic areas, such as hallways and break rooms. In personal offices anything goes. Remember that you’re in your office more hours than your home.
